2/11~12/2012 "Our Lady of the Snow Festival"

To celebrate our Feast Day in honour of "Our Lady of the Snow (name of the Shinjo Church) we had our 2nd Snow Festival on February 11-12. On the first day we prepared the meals. Nabe Ryouri( Japanese soup with vegetables and meat);fried chicken and various Philippine native dishes. Before dinner we participated to the Traditional Japanese Event "Osaido" in Funagata town. It was my first time to attend that festival. It was snowing@and very cold outside. @Then we came back to church and the party begun; eating, drinking, dancing. Suddenly, Funagata district chairman and some members came to church to attend our gathering bringing their own food. They join in, dancing, drinking, eating and singing. I felt the difference of national character and found that religion was not a problem to understand each other,@to work together. instead it binds us. Little by little, the distance will shorten. @On the second day, we had mass at 2:00 p.m. In spite of the bad snowstorm, many attended mass to celebrate and offer homage to "Mary" we dedicated flowers, songs and prayers to our beloved Mother Mary. @After that we enjoyed celebrating all together. It was a nice day. I wish that the world be able to respect and trust each other. Go‚„ bless all of us. iJoshi Hashimij
